We trained kids in safe building practices and gave them a pile of pallets and timber with which to make a village. They were allocated lots of land and voted on a name for their village. There was a stage for them to decorate and perform on when they opened their village to the public. We had a team of kids learning coding and installing small interactive devices in the village, we also had a fountain one year.

No parents or carers were allowed in the village whilst building was happening. The facilitators had no creative input to the designs, interventions were only made for safety reasons. Anything the kids wanted to build we would help them. Interfering dads were shooed away from the fence.
